Eating healthy doesn't have to be boring !
Most of the time when we are considering starting a new Lifestyle change it can be really overwhelming. Specially when it comes to exercising and eating healthy.
I remember when I started my journey everything seem so confusing and I didn't know where to start. I didn't have any guidance or help, My diet consisted of junk food. Most days I will eat pizza from dominoes or Chinese food from restaurants around my area. I'm from East New York Brooklyn and you can find a Chinese restaurant in every corner. At that time my weight was over 220 pounds. I had high cholesterol and high blood pressure, both sides of my families are Diabetic. The fear of all this deceases allowed me to consider it was time for a change.
The 21 day Fix program was the solution I needed for many reasons. It has a balanced exercise program is not hard but i not easy at the same time. For someone like me who never worked out before it was the perfect balance. The program focused a lot on nutrition and the containers changed the way I saw my food portions. It gave me the guidance that I needed to start getting my health back. I am a Dominican man and we love our foods to see that this program allowed me to continue eating the foods that I was already used to, Created the excitement I needed to start. This program has allowed me to get created with my meals because is so simple to use. If the ingredient is in the book. You can eat it and if it fits the container, then you eating the right portion.
In this particular meal I used 2 Yellow containers for my carbs, 2 Greens containers for my Veggies, and 1 Red container for my protein. For one of the yellow containers I used brown rice. I also used black beans for the other yellow container and I just added a little salt and pepper to give it some flavor. I seasoned my ground chicken with some sea salt, garlic, black pepper and some onions. This meal is really simple to prepare, to be honest the simpler the better for me. I try to keep things very simple in the Kitchen that way is easier for me to stay consistent. Nutrition is 70% of all the work, the other 30% will be the workout. If you give everything you have in the Kitchen than you already winning !
